This video is a brief but in depth look at Weenies in level design and what they are used for. We look at using weenies in game design and game development to direct the player’s interest, allow the player to re-orient themselves in the world after getting side tracked, act as a goal to progress towards and also show the progress through a level the player may be making.
We also talk about how the original idea for weenies comes from the one and only Walt Disney and his theme park design. Mentioning that the castle at Disney World is a weenies placed in the center of the park in order to allow the guests to orient themselves and find their way around.
